Adding and Managing Family Members
This article explains how to add, link, and unlink Family Members within the Client Profile. It includes steps for entering and managing Family Member details.
Linking a Family Member to a New Client
You can add a Family Member directly from within a Client Profile.
Note: Options visible on your screen may vary depending on your system configuration.
Steps to Add a Family Member
Open the Family drop-down in the header of the Client Profile and click Add.
A New Client pop-up window will appear. Enter the Family Member’s basic information:
- First Name
- Last Name (copied from the original Client, but editable)
- Date of Birth (DOB) in MM/DD/YYYY format
- Gender (select from dropdown)
Once added, the new Family Member appears in the Family drop-down at the top of the screen.
To complete their demographic details, open the Family Member’s profile and update the following fields as needed:
- Relationship: Select relationship to the primary Client.
- Program Start: REQUIRED – Choose the enrollment date.
- Pregnant?/EDC: Select maternal status and Expected Date of Confinement.
- F5 Consent From: REQUIRED – Enter consent date.
- Client Type: REQUIRED – Select type of Client.
- Additional fields: Address, Ethnicity, Language, Phones, Insurance, Case Manager, etc.
Linking a Family Member to an Existing Client
You can link an existing Client to a Family Group using the Link to Family button.
Steps to Link Clients
Click the Link to Family button in the Family drop-down in the Client Profile; select Existing Client.
Use the Search Fields to find the Client you want to link to. Use the Program Selection field to filter results.
Select the Client you want to link to from the list.
Confirm the link by selecting Yes.
The Clients will now appear in the same Family Group at the top of the screen.
Unlinking a Family Member
To unlink a Client from a Family Group:
In the Family drop-down in the Client Profile, click the Unlink button next to the Family Member’s name.
Confirm by selecting Yes in the Unlink Client box.
Once confirmed, the Family Member will no longer appear in the Family Group.
