Understanding Target Population Assessments
This guide provides an overview of target population assessments in Suite-ECM, their purpose, and considerations for integrating them into the close activity process.
1. Key Features of Target Population Assessments
Designed for Non-Closure:
- They are intended to identify key target case management (TCM) populations, requiring the user to complete only one topic. Based on the topic completed, the target population is assigned.
- By default, target population assessments are set to not close and therefore, display "Not Applicable" (N/A) in the Closed column in the Client Activities List.
Default Behavior:
- Typically, target population assessments are not set to close and therefore, do not participate in the close activity process.
- Users complete one topic, and the Closed column displays N/A, signifying no closure requirement.
2. When Target Population Closure Is Enabled
If closure is required for target population assessments:
- Closure becomes mandatory.
- Users can only complete one topic, potentially causing a conflict for case managers who are required to close an assessment designed to remain open.
3. Resolving Closure Conflicts
To address conflicts with closure-enabled target population assessments:
- Go to Security settings.
- Select a user and navigate to User Group.
- Under Close Activities, enable Override Validation Errors.
Impact of Override Validation Errors:
- This allows staff to close activities even if not all required questions are completed.
- Permission is granted at the User Group level, applying to all assigned users.
Note:
- Enabling this permission affects all close activities.
- Allowing case managers this permission may impact TCM billing.
4. Administrator Recommendation
- The Override Validation Errors permission should be reserved for administrators.
- Each site should evaluate whether granting this permission to case managers aligns with operational needs and billing practices. Each site can determine users’ level of access, please know that allowing case managers this permission may impact TCM billing.
Conclusion
Target population assessments are designed to assign TCM populations efficiently without requiring closure. If closure is necessary, ensure proper permissions are configured to handle exceptions effectively. For further assistance, consult your system administrator or support team.
